O Cerco é uma sequência cinemática de três pequenas pinturas a óleo feitas sobre um livro encontrado. Descreve o progresso de uma corrida em torno da torre da fábrica Oliva, vista a partir de três pontos distintos da cidade, sempre à mesma distância. A pintura responde directamente a uma experiência perceptiva condicionada por um corpo mais inclinado a mover-se do que a focar-se. A margem que separa a pintura do livro, que liga as três pinturas num continuum temporal, mantém-se como a possibilidade do horizonte. A torre é a referência constante desta deriva. As imagens foram pintadas como pretexto para usar o vermelhão, um pigmento composto derivado do mercúrio e enxofre, caracterizado pela sua toxicidade.

‘The Siege’ is a cinematic sequence of three small oil paintings made on a found book. It describes the progress of a run around Oliva Factory tower as it is seen from three distinct points of the city, always from the same distance. The painting addresses directly a perceptual experience conditioned by a body more inclined to move than to focus. The margin that separates the painting from the book, which connects the paintings in a temporal continuum, binds in the object the possibility of the horizon. The tower remains as a persistence reference of the drift. The images were painted as a pretext to use vermillion, a composed pigment derived from mercury and sulfur and distinguished by its toxicity.
