“(…) O regresso casual à fábrica Oliva, passados estes anos, foi marcado por outra forma de viagem – a verdadeira viagem, como nos lembra o abecedário de Deleuze, é sempre feita para confirmar se aquilo que imaginamos está realmente lá. Na sua situação de edifício desmembrado, as imagens da fábrica em ruína assumiam essa condição liminar que Anthony Vidler denominou architectural uncanny ou unhomely. Por uma parte, a fábrica era ainda um espaço familiar de relações, manifesto no recorte que a sua arquitectura impunha ao tecido urbano e nos fragmentos das histórias das gerações que atravessaram a vida da Oliva, guardados nos arquivos documentais da empresa; mas era também o cenário latente de micronarrativas que excediam o arquivo, das alotopias suscitadas pelos espaços abandonados, da estranheza formal dos moldes industriais deixados para trás, dos gestos e acções que irremediavelmente se perderam porque a sua memória não é arquivável fora do sistema de reiteração que os conforma à serialidade do trabalho industrial.
History, Mystory é uma tentativa de reapropriar os gestos que se perderam com o fim da fábrica, e ao mesmo tempo registar essa perca. É uma obra em 3 actos, levados a cabo como fabulações em torno das dimensões histórica e íntima dos edifícios da Oliva e dos seus arquivos documentais. O projecto, que se desdobra em desenhos protocolares e actos performativos, resulta de noções simples: a transferência entre gestos de campos performativos distintos, e a correspondência entre o edifício e o corpo”.

“(…)After all these years, the fortuitous return to the factory was framed by another kind of journey – the true journey, as Deleuze’s ABC reminds us, is always undertaken to confirm whether what we imagined is really there. As a dismembered building, the images of this factory in ruins took on that liminal condition called ‘architectural uncanny’ or ‘unhomely’ by Anthony Vidler. On the one hand, the factory was still a familiar space of relationships, patent in the outline its architecture imposed on the urban fabric and the fragments of the stories of the generations which crossed paths with Oliva, stored in the document archives of the company; yet it was also the underlying setting for micro narrative that went beyond the archives, of alotopies prompted by the abandoned spaces, the formal oddity of the industrial moulds left behind, the gestures and actions which were irretrievably lost because their memory is not archivable outside the reiteration system that relegates them to the repetition of industrial work.
History, Mystory is an attempet to repossess the gestures that were lost when the factory closed and at the same time to record this loss. It is a work in 3 acts, performed like fabulations around the historical and intimate dimensions of the Oliva buildings and their document archives. The work, comprising protocol drawingsand performative acts, results from simple ideas: the transfer between gestures from different performative fields and the matching of the body and the building.”
